Welcome to the website of PDF Agile Software, (“PDF Agile”, “we”, “us” and/or “our”). Data privacy is important and we have prepared this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use, protect and disclose data when you use any PDF Agile services which includes this website and any site ("Site(s)"); software provided by PDF Agile ("Software"); or services offered by PDF Agile (collectively, "Services"). "You" refers to you as a user of the Site or Services. This Privacy Policy applies to only those websites and services included within the “Services” and does not apply to any third-party websites and services, even if they are accessible through our Services.

We will only process your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy laws.

We need certain personal data in order to provide you with access to the Services. If you created a profile, registered an account, downloaded software or provided information to us, you will have been asked to explicitly consent to our End User License Agreement (EULA) and Privacy Policy in order to access our Services, purchase our products and/or view our content. This consent provides us with the legal basis we require under applicable law to process your data. If you do not agree to our use of your personal data in line with this Policy, please do not use our Services.

1. REVISION TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our data practices. If we make any material changes, we will notify you by means of a notice on this Site prior to the change becoming effective. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest data on our privacy practices. Please note the effective date listed at the beginning of the Privacy Policy. If we make any material change(s) to the Privacy Policy, we will post a notice on our Site prior to such changes(s) taking effect.

If you disagree with any changes to the Privacy Policy and do not wish to be subject to the revised Privacy Policy, you need to deactivate your account and stop using PDF Agile services.

2. DATA COLLECTED

We collect information about you in a range of forms, including personal data. As used in this Privacy Policy, “personal data” is as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation EU 2016/679 and any successor legislation; this includes any information which, either alone or in combination with other information we hold about you, identifies you as an individual, including, for example, email address.

2.1 WEBSITE USAGE DATA

If you visit our Sites, we collect Personal Data as follows:

  1. (1) Date and time of the visit and the duration of use of the Site;
  2. (2) Information about how you visit our Sites;
  3. (3) Your operations and clicks to our Sites;
  4. (4) Information about your device (type of device, browser type and version, as well as settings, installed plug-ins, operating system).

Purposes of Processing: We process Website Usage Data to allow you to surf the Sites and to ensure their functionality. We also process Website Usage Data to perform analyses on the performance of the Sites, to improve the Sites continuously and correct errors, to ensure IT security and operation of our systems, as well as to prevent or uncover abuse.

2.2 PERSONAL DATA:

  2. (2) Transaction Data: Billing information, such as the Type of Services you purchase, the amount you pay, and your order number.

  4. (4) Content of customer support communications;
  5. (5) Other Data you voluntarily provide to us.

Purposes of Processing:

  1. (1) We use Account Data to help you create an account (PDF-Agile ID) and keep a record of your product license (that is, authenticating and periodically verifying your licensing rights in the product for anti-piracy purposes) and to enable the provision of maintenance or support services to you. We will also use this information to provide in-product messaging with information about products, features, or services offered by PDF Agile.
  2. (2) We will use Transaction Data to complete your order, for billing purposes, and for internal accounting and chargeback management purposes.
  3. (3) We will use the comment data to improve its products and provide the consumers and potential consumers with better and transparent information about PDF Agile Services. PDF Agile may use the comments (with your relevant information) you post for marketing purposes in order for others to better understand and use our Services.
  4. (4) In order to provide the Services you purchased to you or perform the contract between you and PDF Agile.
  5. (5) We do not collect or process the data about your payment instruments such as credit card numbers, banking account numbers or PayPal accounts. This information is collected, processed and stored by our qualified payment processors.
  6. (6) From time to time, we may contact our customers directly by email to inform you about upgrades, new products, promotions, or special offers that you told us you were interested in receiving (including our newsletters). The subscription to PDF Agile’s newsletters and the related provision of Personal Data is made on a voluntary basis. If you want to cancel the aforementioned purpose, you can contact us on our Sites or send email to us.

2.3 SENSITIVE DATA

PDF Agile does not require or use sensitive data like racial or ethnic origin, political affiliation or opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, health data, sexual orientation, criminal convictions, or genetic or biometric data. Subject to the following paragraph, we ask that you not send us and/or disclose any such sensitive personal data.

If you send or disclose any sensitive personal data to us when you submit user-generated content to our services, you consent to our processing and use of such sensitive personal data in accordance with this Policy. If you do not consent to our processing and use of such sensitive personal data, you must not submit such user-generated content to our Services.

2.4 DOCUMENT DATA

The Sites, Software, and Services provide capabilities to users to upload and manipulate documents. The user is responsible for and owns the content of the documents. PDF Agile does not alter the content of documents. By content, we are referring to text, graphics, and/or images within the document that are human-readable and convey the meaning of the document to a person reading it. Occasionally, we will have to alter the formatting of the document to show it on the Sites (i.e., on Mobile devices) or in the Software, but there will be no material change to the content within the document.

When storing documents on the Sites, Software, and Services, PDF Agile collects the following data:

  1. (1) Document Metadata: Name, size, email address of the user uploading document, metadata about the structure of the document, and standard metadata provided by the standard used to create the document (PDF, DOC, XLS, etc.).
  2. (2) Document Content: The contents of documents stored in the Site, Software, or Services. There are some services, such as converting PDF to other formats, OCR, and converting CAD to PDF, that require the PDF files to be uploaded to the cloud for recognition. The recognition is then passed back to the client-side converter, after which the source files are deleted (no longer than 24 hours), and no user source files are stored.

2.5 USER GENERATED CONTENT

You may share personal data with us when you submit user-generated content to our Services, including via our forums and message boards. Please note that any information you post or disclose on our Site will become public information, and will be available to other users of our Site and to the general public. We urge you to be very careful when deciding to disclose your personal data or any other information on our Site. Such personal data and other information will not be private or confidential once it is published on our Site.

2.6 ACTIVITY DATA

Activity Data includes data about how users interact with our Site, Software, or Services. Data in this category includes:

  1. (1) Browser Technologies: Cookies, beacons, tags and scripts
  2. (2) Device Data: Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system. If printing, we may collect device data about the printer like: Driver, Printer ID, Brand, Make, Model, and other data accessible through the print driver.
